Estonia’s core panel-housing series are the 1960s khrushchyovka (5-story, thin floor slabs), the 1970s–1980s brezhnevka (9–16 stories, improved layouts, elevators), and the 1970s–1990s large-panel family including Series 111 and 1-464A (load-bearing external-panel construction). The series drives a long list of renovation decisions — which internal walls can be removed, how thickly you can insulate, which seams need reconstruction. Series can be identified from construction year, the structural project, and external architecture. How does khrushchyovka renovation scope differ from brezhnevka?

Khrushchyovkas (1960s, 5 stories) have thin floor slabs and narrow layouts — the main renovation focus is thermal performance (window replacement, end-wall insulation), cautious demolition (not every partition is non-bearing), and in-apartment utility replacement. Brezhnevkas (1970s–1980s, 9–16 stories) need full-facade insulation, complete riser replacement (most risers are end-of-life), balcony glazing, and common-area refurbishment. What warranty does Novashop provide on its work?

Accepted Answer

Every Novashop Projekt job carries a written warranty with the period and coverage fixed in the contract. The warranty covers the quality of executed works and does not contain hidden exclusions — if a defect stems from our work, we remediate it at our own cost within the warranty period. The warranty does not replace manufacturer warranties on materials (those run under the supplier’s own terms), cover damage caused by incorrect client use, or extend to force-majeure events. Does Novashop require an advance payment?

Accepted Answer

No. Novashop Projekt does not require an advance payment to start a job. The first instalment is due after our mobilisation on site and the first acceptance act, and subsequent instalments are tied to milestone acceptance acts per the contract. This is a deliberate business choice: in the construction market, advance requests are a classic risk flag — they create client uncertainty and are associated with cases where contractors disappear after the payment.
